Primary rainforest at Sirena, Corcovado National Park

Corcovado · Sirena Sector

8h Hard Muelle Las Vegas, Sierpe de Osa

The most biodiverse area of Costa Rica, with its own ranger station deep inside primary rainforest. Early boat departure from Sierpe.

Sirena is Corcovado's crown jewel. The ranger station sits inside the park, so the moment you land you're already surrounded by primary forest with almost no other groups. The hike happens early, while wildlife is active.

The boat ride from Sierpe crosses the Térraba-Sierpe delta, then the Dulce gulf, landing right on the Sirena beach. From there you walk flat to moderate trails with a bilingual SINAC-certified guide.

It's a long and demanding day, but everyone who does it remembers it as the best of their trip. If Costa Rica had to fit in one photo, that photo is Sirena.

Frequently asked

Can we really expect to see tapirs?

Yes, with high probability. Sirena has the highest tapir density in Costa Rica and the guides know the dawn spots.

Is there a minimum age?

No strict minimum, but it's a 6+ hour hike in hot humid weather. We recommend 8+ years with good fitness.

What if it rains?

The tour runs with light rain. In case of rough seas or SINAC closure we reschedule at no cost or refund per policy.

Are there bathrooms on the route?

Only at the Sirena station. Trails have no facilities.
